Coming full circle in any part of life is exciting, especially when it’s something you are passionate about. For Morgan, her many creative outlets have collided, in a good way! Pursuing interior design full time as a One Liner while styling photoshoots for small businesses from the fashion to the interior spaces these are the layers that tell a story.

Q. Tell us about all your creative outlets and how they mix together?
I have never just had one creative outlet but many- from fashion to design to photography and in my throwback days I painted. Today I have found a way in which I am able to mix all these outlets together. Recently in my photography business I have found myself photographing interiors, which is such a full circle thing for me and something I have always wanted to do. I have also done a few brand shoots recently in which I am fully styling myself from outfits to hair and makeup and then even the interiors in which they are taking place –seeing all these outlets come together in one setting is truly magical for me!

Q. As a photographer, what kind of photography do you do?
Over the last few years my main focus has been luxury weddings, but I have recently started to branch out into the brand/commercial space. I have been working with a few local small businesses by helping them create content for social media and marketing campaigns. Collaborating with other small businesses has been extremely rewarding, knowing that I am able to provide a service to these companies to help grow their business while also growing mine.

Q. How does your photography bring people together?
Ever since I first picked up a camera, it was always about people. Fun fact; I am a 2 on the enneagram, meaning I am wired to be a “helper”. For me this translates as using my talents for problem solving to help individuals around me, this has always been the forefront of my business. Being in the wedding space obviously was about the bride’s most important day of her life and I will always cherish being a part of that. With some of the brands I work with I do personal branding for the owners, which is really a way to get their face out there to create this layer of trust with the clients they are trying to connect with.

Q. How does fashion and interior design play a role in your shoots?

Regardless of the type of shoot that I do, fashion and interiors always play a role in some aspect. When I am planning a shoot with a client, understanding the overall direction and feeling is the first thing that I discuss with them.  Just as I do at work, I create a mood board for the client that visualizes the look and feel of the project so I can understand how to make this come to life. This foundation then allows me to help them select a location – whether that is interior or exterior as the base of the photoshoot.

The next most important layer to me is fashion. The location truly influences the fashion aspect of the shoot. It is incredibly important and something that I spend hours curating from the outfits down to the accessories. Just like in design, every shape, color and texture that you introduce into a space gives it a certain feeling and tells a story. I ensure that everything selected aligns with the mood board, continuing to build the layers of the overall shoot.

Q. We are so glad to have you on the One Line team for your interior design skills and your passion for photography is a huge bonus as well. Recently you photographed the team on our retreat. Do you ever feel pulled in too many creative directions or love it when they all collide?

I have always had my hands in so many things – I am definitely a ‘workaholic’ but it is a blessing because I am able to just be creative in so many ways. It does get the best of me sometimes. Over the years I have had to learn how to balance all the creative spaces that I am in and not to overload myself. But ultimately, when I have a healthy balance in my life it is pure magic when all my creative skills collide - it truly makes me full of so much joy knowing I am living out what I am called to do. I am so thankful to be working for a company that acknowledges my other creative passions and allows me to pursue those in and alongside my full-time role as an Interior Designer.
