As we mark Jason’s five-year anniversary at One Line Design Studio, we want to take the time to recognize his incredible journey and success. Jason’s inspiration for pursuing interior design began in an unexpected place—the world of Sims. Growing up playing the game, he spent hours designing houses and using cheat codes to fuel his never-ending creativity. Jason switched his path from theatre and dance to interior design after enrolling in Seminole State College’s Interior Design program, where he found his true calling in commercial design.
Jason describes his design style in three words: timeless, inviting, and cozy. His passion for creating spaces that feel both functional and welcoming is evident in all his work. Over the years, teamwork and collaboration have played a key role in his success, understanding that it takes a dedicated team to successfully complete projects.
As a Senior Project Designer, Jason finds immense satisfaction in mentoring junior designers. He is a firm believer in “paying it forward,” sharing his knowledge and expertise while also learning from the fresh perspectives of newer designers. Reflecting on his time at One Line, Jason is most proud of being the first designer hired at the firm. He has had the unique opportunity to witness and contribute to this rapid growth—a rare experience for most designers.
Jason’s journey at One Line has been defined by key milestones, including his promotion from Project Designer to Senior Project Designer and now becoming the first Associate at the firm. Reflecting on this achievement, he dedicates it to his family, who encouraged him to always reach for the stars. Jason stays motivated by the constant evolution of the design industry. No two projects are the same, and the evolving challenges keep him excited to learn and grow.
As he looks forward to the next five years, Jason’s goals include strengthening client relationships, mentoring junior designers, and achieving his NCIDQ certification. His best piece of design advice? “Your first design idea is not going to be your final design idea, Anonymous”—a reminder that the creative process is an evolving journey. For new designers entering the field, Jason’s advice is to remain open: to learning, to challenges, and to the limitless opportunities of career growth the industry offers.
We are incredibly fortunate to have Jason as part of the One Line team and are excited to see what the future holds for him!
